Easy hikes

Tatra Valleys

If you don’t have mountain experience and don’t know where to start, begin with a hike in the Valleys. The closest to Villa are Kościeliska Valley, Mała Łąka Valley, and Chochołowska Valley (the last one can be done on a bicycle, with bike rentals available at the parking lots).

Moderately difficult hikes

Trails with a low level of difficulty

Full-day hikes:

  • Morskie Oko – the trail starts at the Palenica Białczańska parking lot, and the hike to Morskie Oko takes about 2.5 hours. To park your car at the parking lot, you need to reserve a spot online here: Parking.
  • Kopieniec – we recommend the trail through Olczyska Valley (parking at the entrance to the valley); the ascent to the summit takes about 2.5 hours.
  • Grześ – a peak in the Western Tatras. The ascent from Chochołowska Valley to the summit takes about 4 hours. This time can be shortened by renting a bike, which can take you to the Chochołowska Glade Shelter. The walk from the shelter to Grześ takes about one and a half hours. The panoramic view of the Tatras from the summit is breathtaking!
  • Czarny Staw Gąsienicowy – a beautiful scenic hike; the trail starts in Kuźnice, with two options: through Boczań or through Jaworzynki Valley. It takes about 3 hours to reach the lake, and along the way, you can stop at the Murowaniec shelter.
  • Gęsia Szyja from Rusinowa Polana – you can reach Rusinowa Polana from two locations: from Brzeziny through Wiktorówki, where the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Jaworzynski Queen of the Tatras is located, or from Wierch Poroniec (the easier option). Parking is available at the trailhead. It takes about 1.5 hours to reach Gęsia Szyja from Rusinowa. We recommend it because of the beautiful views.

Shorter hikes:

  • Sarnia Skała – there are two options for this hike: from Strążyska Valley or from Biały Valley (this option is longer and beware – there are no parking lots at the entrance to Biały Valley). From Sarnia Skała, you will see Giewont from a very close distance.
  • Nosal – here too, we have two hike options: entrance from ul. Karłowicza in Zakopane or from Kuźnice. We recommend the first option because it is shorter and more scenic, but also quite challenging (steps on the trail, rocks) – it’s easier to go up than down. The descent to Kuźnice is quite gentle, and you can have lunch or ice cream in Kuźnice and walk back to the parking lot.
  • Rusinowa Polana and Wiktorówki – you can reach them from two locations: from Brzeziny through Wiktorówki, where the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Jaworzynski Queen of the Tatras is located, or from Wierch Porońca (the easier option). Parking is available at the trailhead.
